Sing for Joy

Sing for joy, sing together

Gather round, all join in.

Never mind if your memory fails you

We'll help out once you begin.

We have Banjo Brian in the corner

No matter what, he'll travel on.

Another sings of Maggie May

A lively lady to Australia gone.

Pete sings of Silkies with his ukulele

Kind Kate brings cake and a soldier's song

If John were a carpenter he'd find his lady

Bob would play his ukulele as the ship went down.

And Di is on the big wheel as it spins around.

Here are Nick and Margaret to entertain us

With summery songs to make us smile

A lovely day is always forecast

Gone our troubles for a while.

Gerry plays clarinet so sweetly

Sue writes poems, so they say

We gather round by the old grey castle

Voices raised on a happy day.

So sing for joy, sing together

No judgement here, no unkind word

All are friends joined by the music

Freed from care, free as a bird.
